Semtech has broadened its LoRa Plus transceiver lineup with two new devices, the LR2022 and LR2012. Both parts are derived from the previously announced LR2021 and use the same fourth-generation LoRa Plus IP1. image placement2. On the receive side, both transceivers reach LoRa sensitivity down to −141.5 dBm at SF12 with 125-kHz bandwidth. Data rates go up to 125 kbps for LoRa and 2 Mbps with FSK modulation. Semtech also highlights a single, switchless front-end design, which is intended to support multiregion operation, along with higher frequency-offset tolerance for use across different bands.

The LR2022 is the more flexible device in the pair. It covers terrestrial sub-GHz operation, the 2.4-GHz ISMinductor super magnetron band, and NTN L and S bands. Protocol support includes LoRaWAN, Bluetooth LE, and FSK-based legacy protocols. The LR2012 is limited to sub-GHz operation and supports LoRaWAN, Wi-SUN, wireless M-Bus, and FSK-based proprietary protocols.

Transmit power settings extend from +22 dBm to −10 dBm in the sub-GHz band for both devices. In the 2.4-GHz band, the LR2022 offers output power from +12 dBm to −15 dBm. According to Semtech, both the LR2022 and LR2012 are now in production.
